What if it rains?  - We can always change the day and/or time to another available spot in the calendar in order to find better weather conditions. Also a light rain won't disturb the shoot. In fact the pictures may be even more interesting, vivid and romantic. Usually from June to September there is almost no rain at all. For the other months I could bring a transparent umbrella in case.

What if I need a make-up artist, hair stylist, bouquet, videographer, car/scooter rental, flying, fancy or wedding dress, etc? - No problem, I'll give you all the contacts for the best professionals in the city.

Can we have more than one outfit during the shoot? - In my experience, we have enough time to do one quick outfit change per hour without too much cutting into the total number of pictures you’ll receive. But for the family/big group I recommend booking 1.5 hours in this case. Otherwise we risk losing lots of shooting time to catch up. Usually it's possible to change outfits in the restroom of a cafe (and getting some take away drink/water as gratitude).

I would like to arrange a secret proposal, could you help? - Sure, I can catch this special moment for you secretly and also bring a bouquet, champagne and assist with decoration, organization, live musician at an extra cost.

What if I am late? - In Rome it's convenient to use the Uber app or to walk if you stay in the historical center, but to get an available taxi (I've had people wait for more than 30 minutes without finding one) or using public transport may take some time. Remember, Rome is a very popular destination and it's a big city. From 9AM to 9PM during spring and summer, travel times may be long so please plan accordingly. I recommend planning your arrival 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time. If you’re running late, please inform me. Unfortunately, if you’re late, the time lost will not be added to your shoot, and you’ll only have the remaining time from the original booking. Of course If you'd like to extend your photo session (and I’m available as it may happen that I have a shoot right after) it's possible to add extra time at an additional cost.

Is travel time included in the photo shoot time? - Yes, travel time is considered part of your photo shoot. As I will be accompanying you between locations, the time spent traveling is included in the overall photography duration. Please remember, my working time starts at the agreed time and finishes with the last picture taken. This includes outfit changes, make up adjustments, movement to new locations, going to a cafe etc. it is all a part of the shooting time.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel? - We can easily reschedule the shoot for any other available day & time in my calendar. Cancellation more than one month in advance of the day = full refund. 2 weeks before = 50% refund. Unfortunately, due to the average scheduling time scale, any prepayment cannot be refunded if you need to cancel less than 2 weeks in advance.

What equipment do you use? - I use a Canon EOS R5 mirrorless camera, Canon lenses 24-70mm, 70-200mm, Sigma Art 50mm, flash and other accessories.

For how long have you been a photographer? - 10 years and counting.

Can we do a photo shoot outside Rome? - Sure, I'm open to shoot at any location in Italy and worldwide. Of course my travel expenses must be covered as a separate cost. And because shoots outside Rome generally take more time to prepare and travel, I must set the minimum duration of the shoot from 2-4 hours (depending on the distance from Rome). 

What is the best time of day for a photo shoot in Rome? - Definitely early morning (7-8 am); the best soft, warm sunlight and no crowds. Another great option is 1-2 hours before the sunset "golden hour", but it can be more complicated and isn't suitable for all locations. For the summer months it is also crucial to keep in mind the high temperatures and strong sunlight.

What locations do you recommend in Rome? - There are so many amazing places in the Eternal City! Here are some of Rome's magnificent attractions: Colosseum, Pantheon, Campidoglio, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, Trastevere, Vatican, Sant'Angelo Castle, Roman Forum, Villa Borghese, the list goes on... For a 1 hour regular shoot, I offer 2 nearby locations or 1 area (like Trastevere or villa Borghese) to make the most of the shooting time during the walkable route between the spots, as traveling can cut into your shooting time. 

Can we also have some pictures in a typical Italian cafe/restaurant? - Cafe shoots in Rome with coffee, pizza, pasta, glass of wine look fantastic! I know many stylish, authentic and photogenic places for that. Usually cafe shoots take 20-30 minutes so if you’d like to do it please expect to add some time to the total. But of course we can also just just a gelato for more fun pictures.

How is the weather & temperature in Rome? - Summer is always sunny and hot (35+ degrees Celsius), spring & autumn are warm (17-25 degrees Celsius) with the possibility of rain, winter is mild in temperature (10-15 degrees Celsius) but it can be more humid and rainy.

What do you advise me to wear? - Whatever you like; the main thing is comfort. Many of the nicest locations are on or surrounded by cobbled streets, so it may be practical to bring (an extra pair) of comfortable shoes if you plan to shoot in high heels. Also, for families and couples, I recommend color coordinating your outfits and limiting the number of colors to 2 or 3. For a portrait shoot I advise bringing some accessories like hat, glasses, bag, scarf. And for the shoot with little kids and babies - their favorite toys and any that make some sound.

Can we have a photo shoot at the Trevi fountain? - Trevi fountain is the most popular and crowded place in Rome: even at 7 am or at midnight there are hundreds of people which makes taking great pictures complicated. To do a photo shoot there requires an extra early arrival in the morning (5:30 am - 6:30 am in the summer) which is possible for an additional fee.

When will our photos be ready? - As for short shoots of 1-2 hours, photos are usually ready within 1-4 weeks (depending on the season), full-day wedding shoots are ready in 1-3 months (again depending on workload). However, if you would like to order urgent photo delivery, it is usually possible (not including weddings): your photos can be ready in 3 days, with an additional payment of 20% of the shooting cost. 

In what languages can we communicate? - English, Italian, Russian, German.

Where do we meet? - The meeting point is the first location on your photoshoot itinerary.

What is not included in the photoshoot cost? - Entry fees, transportation and meals expenses, express delivery service, and any extras like bouquet or hired equipment etc.

Do you edit photos? Can we get original unedited photos? - I do basic editing in Lightroom (like adjusting brightness, contrast, color grading, saturation, cropping, trash removals) of all good photos (like you may see on my website) and I'll give you all of those. On special request, I can give the originals if you want to process them yourself, but these files are very large (50 MB each) and require special programs to open them. If you would like me to do photo retouching (strong correction of skin, facial features, clothes, body shape, hair), then such work is done on a per-photo basis or an additional fee, as this can be a time-consuming process. 

What is your office hours? - I am happy to answer all your questions and respond to your messages & calls during work hours:  9 am - 7 pm (Central European Time GMT+2) 

How will we receive the photos? - Via a link to your folder on Google Drive. The pictures will be uploaded in the highest quality. You can share them, download and print. There is no copyright sign. They will be available by the link for 1 month. Please note that the storage is temporary, though I am happy to extend it if needed. I recommend downloading your images as soon as you receive the link to ensure you have them safely stored.

What if after receiving the photos I would like to change or add editing? - Prior to the shoot you are welcome to tell me your editing preferences (dark and moody, bright and saturated etc., send some references) and I’ll do my best to match your desires, but after the edit, if you want changes then it will be an extra 20% of the total cost to make those revisions.

How do I book a photo shoot? - Just write to me on WhatsApp, social media, email, or here on the website and we can discuss what you'd like to do. Once we've settled on a day and time etc., I will add your photo shoot in my calendar and then we're ready!
